How to Make a Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino at Home

I didn’t think about how to make a peppermint mocha Frappuccino at home until I lived far, far away from the nearest Starbucks in the outskirts of Maine. Who was really gonna take a 2-hour bus ride to a Starbucks anyway? So I whipped up one on my own. This is truly how easy it is:

Make coffee ice cubes

About 3 hours before, or the night before, grab your favorite cold brew coffee and pour it into an ice cube tray. Or, brew fresh coffee, allow it to cool, then pour into an ice cube tray.

Blend Bananas

Day of, add frozen bananas into a blender. Blend until you get crumbly banana bits. Pour in almond milk to help the rest of the blending process along. Blend until you get a smooth and creamy mixture.

Add in Coffee Ice Cubes

Pop out your coffee ice cubes and add them to the blender. Blend until smooth. Then, add in cocoa powder and peppermint extract. Again, blend all the ingredients together until smooth.

Pour, top and Enjoy

Pour this peppermint mocha mixture into two glasses. Top with whipped cream, chocolate shavings and/or a candy cane hooked onto the side of the glass. Enjoy the best peppermint mocha Frappuccino!

  1. This is just what I need..my only question is (yes I’m totally picky) can you taste even the slightest bit of banana!??
    Thank you!

    1. No worries about being picky! I don’t personally taste the banana, but I seriously love them, so… 😉 Also, the riper the banana, the more likely it’ll be that you’ll taste them. Hope you get to try! 🙂

  2. Those little curls on the top of the frappucchinos are the Cutest Thing Ever – your pictures are ridiculously festive! I think a few of these and I might actually make it through the Mount Everest of wrapping I have in front of me…cheers, my friend! 🙂

    1. Woot woot!! Imagine I’m saying that in the most festive, golden-horns accompanied way, like EVER. 😉 I hope you get to try this and just love it. Happy holidays, my friend! 🙂

    1. It’s so good! Everyone in my family’s already asking me to make it again! Haha. Thanks so much, Marsha! 🙂

  3. This looks amazing, and chocolate peppermint isn’t even my go to flavor during Christmas (LOVE gingerbread!). Frozen bananas always make for the BEST, creamiest base for drinks like this! Yours looks beautiful 🙂 I’ve had the Christmas music blasting nonstop as I bake, too! Seriously the most wonderful time of the year. Glad to hear yours is going well!!

    1. Yep! Gingerbread and peppermint/chocolate are the two go-tos for the holidays! Thank you so much, Sara. 🙂 Happy to hear yours is going splendidly. 🙂
